What's In A Name

Webmobyle was chosen as a name for the Enterprise as it is representative of the definitive thinking behind operational principles in business and all interactions undertaken in app and web development efforts. The two terms in the name are defined as below.

People Technologies– This slogan is representative of the holistic view that people are at the centre of everything we do. It is the basis for all approaches to app and web development in all project phases from design, development through to deployment and support.

Web

Web technology refers to the means by which computers communicate with each other using markup languages and multimedia packages. It gives us a way to interact with hosted information, like websites and web applications.

Mobyle

Mobyle is a deliberately misspelled word for Mobile.

Mobile technology is technology that goes where the user goes. It consists of portable two-way communications devices, computing devices and the networking technology that connects them. Currently, mobile technology is typified by internet-enabled devices like smartphones, tablets and smart watches.

Webmob.link

Webmob.link is a link shortening service at Webmobyle.

Webmob is at the most basic just a shortening of Webmobyle but it also has a deeper meaning. Let me explain;

  1. I, Barnett Temwa (Systems Architect at Webmobyle) am a General, a humble servant in The Lord’s Army –  Army of The Most High God (Long story). This is what was initially my belief and is now fact. I do not require anyone to accept this, I am just expressing it.
  2. Which means I command God’s Heavenly Host.
  3. Hip Hop (The Old School, Deep, Insightful, Original Hip Hop with message of struggle, strife, beef and hope) is my first love.
  4. If you have any exposure to Hip Hop culture as it was when I was coming up, you would know that the mindset is just plain rowdy and radical.
  5. So the mob in Webmob is a nod to this element that arises from my love and exposure to and of Hip Hop, with respect to the Heavenly Host: as in – “We are mobbing your sector on the Web and everywhere else where we need to let our Light shine upon the Dark”.
  6. .Link is just one of the new domain extensions that I thought would be perfect for a link shortener.
